New Offering! Parents Therapy Group

Group for Guardians of Neurodivergent Folks

Group for Guardians of Neurodivergent Folks

This Spring, Chloe McKinley BA-CYC, MACP and Kate Bonnell MACP, CCC are offering a semi-structured therapy group supporting parents and guardians of neurodivergent children. We welcome anyone who is looking to learn new tools around navigating daily life with neurodivergence, and connect with other parents who share the same experiences. Some of the topics will include non-violent communication, self-regulation, and overcoming judgement and shame, grief process and building bright futures. When we've run this group in the past, it is loosely structured, but then tailored to the central concerns and experiences that group of particular members to ensure folks take away something meaningful.

Our hooe is to have enough interest to begin again with online sessions on Wednesday evening in March 2025, and run it over 6 weeks. We have also considered offerings an in person group on Mondays over lunch time, if there are enough people available at this time.

So please email either Kate or Chloe to let us know if you're interested, as well as the best option for you. As this grows, we're hopeful to expand the offerings to help as many parents as possible.

The cost will be $465 per person for the full 6 weeks, (paid in full before the first session). Because this is a psychotherapy group, you could be eligible for coverage through extended health care, or autism funding depending on your coverage. If you have questions about payment or funding, feel free to reach out.

Chloe has been working with families in the Cowichan Valley for a number of years, and is a registered provider with the Autism Funding Unit.

See more details on the poster, or sign up for the mailing list if you are interested in participating. Please share with anyone you think would like to know about it!

The mailing list will only be used to coordinate for this group, arrange intakes prior to the start, or give updates about those sessions. It will not be used for any other marketing or shared with anyone.
